News News News!

I still cant get the hang of this blogging! There just doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day or day's in the week to fit everything in! But hey ho, such is life. So here is another update for you all.

Summer is here and so is Summer Virgin. Our award winning 4.5% summer beer, the first beer the founders Dave and Roland ever brewed is back to quench your thirst on those long hot summer nights. You can find a review of Summer virgin AND Brentwood gold from The Ormskirk Baron an independent beer reviewer.

June sees the arrival of Pacific Pale Ale. The recipe was designed by Jim, our newest assistant brewer who joined the company in September 2010. The beer is a 4.7%, light brown beer heavily hopped with hops from the Pacific region. He's hoping it will be a big hit with our regulars and newcomers alike.

Also this month we are doing a one off brew using a recipe from the Essex craft brewers association, the 'Shed Brewers'. Gnome Brew is a 3.8% session bitter and will be available throughout June.

So that's June. Fast approaching Is the Brentwood Beer and music festival. Formally the White Horse festival, which was held at our brewery tap in Coxtie Green, its being moved to a bigger venue due to its popularity and will now be at the Brentwood Centre with 150 real ales and music from the likes of 'From The Jam' and 'The Boomtown Rats'. Tickets and details can be found HERE.

Once all that is over we have the CAMRA Chelmsford Summer beer festival. Always a good day out, we're all hoping for an award this year. So fingers crossed!

New beer!

Today we brewed our first new beer of the year, BBC2 (you see what we did there?). Our first attempt at a low alcohol beer, we knew we needed to make this one special. So for what this lacks in ABV (its actually going to be 2.8%) it will more than make up for in hop.

Bittered with the original American hop, Cluster and finished off with an eye wateringly large dose of Simcoe.

Aside from that we have been brewing our Easter Beers, Hot XXX Buns and Big Bunny. They have been hopping out the door.

So whats in store for you all? Well now the fine weather is upon us we see the annual release of Forbidden fruit and Brentwood Blonde.

Spring is here

So the festivities have come and gone and I broke my promise to blog regularly right away! So as your all dying to know whats been happening at Brentwood Brewing Company HQ I better bring you up to speed.

Christmas was a huge success and we almost sold out of beer. But thanks to the hard work of everyone on the team we managed to get through it. Our Valentines beer Blind date has done well (clearly we have a lot of Casanova's amongst our clientele) so to all those that sampled it, we hope you enjoyed it.

Now what do you have to look forward to? Well we have recently racked our current seasonal specials, Burton Ale, a classic British Bitter and Brentwood Blonde, a refreshing golden beer at 3.8%. Look out for these in your local now. We have also had our Jolly Decent Wallop on in Weatherspoon pubs nationwide. Its been an amazing success with some great feedback. So whether you in Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham or London, look out for it in your local JD wetherspoons.

And just to keep you coming back, there will be some great new beers this year, including one that is very different from anything you would have seen from us before. So stay tuned for more updates.
